1820 Deed: John Hardwood & wife Martha Tabb to Isaac RigginRecorded: 21 May 1821 York County, Virginia Courthouse Deed book 9 Page 20This Indenture made and entered into this fifteenth day of April in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and twenty. Between John Harwood Sen. And Martha Tabb his wife of the one part and Isaac Riggin of the other part and all of the County of York in the State of Virginia. Whereforth that the said John Harwood Sen. and Martha Tabb his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred and ten dollars to them cash in hand paid or secured to be paid the rest whereof they hereby acknowledge and there of acquire and discharge him the said Isaac Riggin have granted, bargained, sold, aliened entiffed and confirmed and by these presents, do grant, bargain sell, alien enteoff and confirm unto the said Isaac Riggin one certain Tract piece or piece of Land, Situate lying and being in the County aforesaid and Bounded as follows to wit, on the East by Lambs Creek, on the North by Poquoson river, on the West by the Lands of Thomas Pescud and on the south by the Lands of Edward C Howard and Containing by estimation Eighty one acres be the same more or less unto him the said Isaac Riggin his heirs and assigns forever and all the estate rights Title, Property, Interest claim and demand of them the said John Harwood Sen. And Martha Tabb his Wife, of in and to the said grantes and bargaines land with each all and every of its appurtenances and appendages thereunto be- Longing, or in any wise apportaing to him the said Isaac Riggin his heirs And assigns forever, To have and to hold the said grants & bargaines Land and Premises with all and every of its appurtenances, appendages, and Enhancements, Unto him the said Isaac Riggin his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Harwood Sen. and Martha Tabb his wife, do covenant to and with the said Isaac Riggin & his heirs a good sure and perfect Title to the aforesaid grantes & bargaines Land & premises and every part & parcel thereof against themselves and their heirs, and against the claim or claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever unto him the said Isaac Riggin his heirs & assigns, shall and will forever warrant and defend by these presents In Faith and Testimony whereof they the said John Harwood Sen. and Click here for the high resolution scanned image of the original deed |
